Although insecticides have an important role in agricultural protection, it is limited availability due to development of resistance in pests. Susceptibility of pests and possibility of resistance development and should be considered during the insecticide applications. Resistance mechanisms in phytophagous insects to prevent the development of resistance should be enlightened and should be appealed effective resistance management programmes. Pest population genetics and ecology are also extremely important to get effective results of resistance management programmes.
