Abstract
The given article is dedicated to the analysis of the “self-concept” among modern youth. The theoretical basis is grounded upon works of polish psychologists-cognitivists like M. Dymkovski, Y. Kozeletski, M. Yarymovych, Y. Rejkovski. The results of the study of the “self-concept” among young people are provided in the empiric part. The investigation of the “self-concept” has been based on one of modern questionnaires “Inventory of the self-concept” by J. Sherwood in P. Oles` modification and translated into Ukrainian by I. Durkalevych. The results of the study have showed that family is one of the most crucial factors which have an influence on the “self-concept” among young people.
