Abstract
The modification of cotton cellulose with sodium metaperiodate was carried out. The effect of the oxidation time of cellulose on the amount of aldehyde groups formed in it was studied and the conditions for carrying out the reaction were determined. IR- spectra of the initial and oxidized cellulose are obtained, which confirm the effectiveness of the chosen method.
