ETHNIC IDENTITY: LINGUO-CULTURAL ASPECT

The article deals with the specifics of speech communication of an individual as a bearer of some ethnic identity in the practice of intercultural intercourse in the modern world. The language activity of participants, allowing talking of their involvement into the ethnic culture has a stereotypical character. The language both unites the ethnicity into the language community, whose activity is regulated by the language system, norm, and differentiates the language community on a number of social groups. Due to the language innovations and a language shift social groups could affect the maintenance of ethnic identification of other members of the language community.
