COMPARATIVE ASSESSMENT OF THE CURRENT PARAMETERS OF THE ROAD AND RAILWAY NETWORK IN BULGARIA

The present paper deals with a comparative assessment of current parameters of the road and rail network of Bulgaria and selected European countries, which are comparable in historic and economic aspect. For this purpose, indicators for the density of the road and rail network, measured in km/1000 km2 and degree of contentment of the population with road and rail network, measured in km/10000 people are calculated. Based on the conducted empirical research, conclusions about the state of the transport infrastructure of Bulgaria are drawn.
