Abstract
The paper studies the dynamics of unemployment in the developed countries of the European Union. The distribution of the unemployed population in the developed countries of the EU by gender is shown. The basic reasons for the increase in the unemployment rate in the euro area are cleared up. The features of the recession in the European Union are described.
