Abstract

The article is devoted to the short review of characteristics of the XIX century ? classical era of the domestic culture marked by lifting of spiritual culture, literature, church art. But, at the same time, during this period religiousness recession in large part of the Russian intellectuals which creative elite directs on a way of spiritual search of original ideals and ontologic meanings is observed also. In classical era on the arena of historical and cultural events the important educational role was played by the advanced spiritual leaders of Russian Orthodox Church among whom theological works of prelates of Philaret (Drozdov), Ignatius (Bryanchaninov), Theophan the Recluse appeared the most considerable. Its contents in no small measure promoted formation of moral and esthetic vector of public consciousness of the Russian society.
