A suggested program to develop content analysis skills in science content analysis course for Al-Aqsa university students

Abstract

This study aims at identifying the effect of suggested program for developing theoretical knowledge and content analysis skills. For this purpose a suggested program was developed which contained theoretical knowledge of content analysis skills, Random sample of (61) students who were enrolled in science content analysis course during the second semester in 2013/2014. The sample was divided into two groups: control group (31) students and experimental group (30) students. Achievement test and content analysis skills inventory were administrated as pri-test. The experimental group studies the above mentioned course by the suggested program, while the control group studied the same course by traditional ways, the findings of the study revealed that there was a significant difference in students content analysis skills, but there was no significant differences in their theoretical knowledge. Also the results indicated that there were no significant differences between the theoretical knowledge and content analysis skills for the experimental students group. The study concluded that it is necessary to consider both the theoretical knowledge and applied skills whish are necessary for students to analyze science curriculum contents.
