Abstract
We give an account of a sort of Nano composite consisting of Cadmium (Cd) core and a Silica (SiO2) shell. We developed and optimized these particles for photocatalytic and photovoltaic applications. The particle morphology was investigated by electron microscopy. The Cd-doped SiO2 nanoparticles (Cd@SiO2)NPs had a narrow dissemination with breadths in the size scope of 60nm through TEM perception. The crystalline size is estimated by the Scherrer equation and TEM assessments. N2 adsorption and desorption isotherms gave additional proof that the Cd particles were effectively fused into silicapore channels. Photocatalytic performance of Cd@SiO2 NPs was investigated using Malachite Green (MG) as a model pollutant under UV light.
