Abstract
The efficiency of physical education in higher educational institutions depends mainly on the level of requirements to students' physical fitness, which are determined by the level of pass standards requirements. These requirements, in their turn, determine the number of used physical exercises and intensity of the conducted lessons, allowing preparing students to perform the standards. In the article, the accepted standards are presented, setting serious tasks on raising functional opportunities for students and recommendations on the amount of physical exercises, providing meeting these requirements, which promotes raising physical opportunities, health improvement and raises mental and physical performance of students, are given.
