Abstract
This article is devoted to one of the priority aspects of pedagogic activity – the work with gifted children. Studying the Russian and foreign concepts of giftedness allowed distinguishing the general features of gifted children, determining the main principles of work with them, forming the pedagogic activity system in educational facility for ability development of gifted students. Nowadays education is considered the main factor and resource of social and state development in the long strategic view; that is why the work with gifted children is one of the priority aspects of pedagogic activity. This trend coincides with the world one, which is supported by the statement of the Council of Europe: “No country can afford the luxury of wasting talents and the lack of timely detection of intellectual and any other potential is nothing short of dissipation of human resources…”
