Abstract
The article describes the stress state of semi resilient parallel keys with rounded closed hollow sections at end faces, which are used to connect shafts with hubs of gears, sprockets, pulleys, etc. Statics calculations for such keys have been made. In order to obtain the dependencies between elastic deformation of the resilient key and torque transmitted by joint, the elastic part of key have been presented as a frame with two straight rods connected by an arch, so that one rod rests on a rigid base, and the second is acted by distributed load from the shaft that twists. Dependences for the key deformation have confirmed that the effects of torque in this area is reduced because of the reduction in stress peak on the shaft and this torque is smoothly transferred from the shaft to the hub or vice versa.
