Abstract
Defining a multifunctional charger, capable of undertake various operation in a single charger system. The charger system describing here is a combinational form of On board charger with a low voltage dc to dc converter system. The circuit design consists of mainly three H-bridges and a high frequency transformer with a switch to perform the three functions as a charger. The Hbridges form two converter sets- Front end full bridge converter and back end full end converter which will act according to the action to perform. Proper isolation is made between the grid and propulsion battery with the transformer. Front end full bridge converter will make power factor correction and rectify input. The charging of auxiliary battery will also be done by front end converter set by step down. Back end full bridge converter will charges the propulsion battery from grid & also discharges the propulsion battery to charge the auxiliary battery connected to the charging system. The performance of the system is simulated using the MATLAB simulation.
