Abstract
Surface transportation is most used mean of transportation. Concrete is the most used construction material used in rigid pavement. Lots of studies have been carried out so far for utilization of fly ash in construction. However its use as partial replaced Portland pozzolana cement (ppc) is yet to be generalized. Huge amount of waste plastics is prime concern for environment due to its disposal problem being non-biodegradable .In this paper attempt is made to explore the possibility of use of fly ash and waste plastic in rigid pavement as partial replacement of cement and fine aggregate respectively. Experimental results showed that plastic can effectively been used in concrete as partial replacement of fine aggregate. Loss of compressive strength on account of addition of plastic waste can be compensated by use of 10% fly ash as partial replacement of PPC in concrete.
