Abstract
The SPCBs or regulators cannot identify all the list of producers of branded, unbranded and orphaned products and also traders and importers and make them to comply with EPR. They do not have accurate figures for rapidly increasing e-waste volumes generated domestically and by imports from other countries. With the current staff level at SPCB, identifying the bulk consumers who contribute 70% of e-waste in the country like government institutions, private sectors, commercial organizations, residential apartments, inspecting and verifying their records will be a big challenge. Also tracking of illegal imports of e-waste from developed countries to prevent backyard recycling is difficult.
