Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the relationship between the operating speed of light vehicle with road geometric conditions which have a combination of horizontal and vertical alignment on 2/2 UD interurban road in Indonesia. The relationship between the operating speed of the vehicle and geometric conditions can be known from the vehicle operating speed prediction model. Where the vehicle operating speed is a function of the variable road geometric. Studies conducted on interurban roads with the type of road 2/2 UD with the object of study is a light vehicle. Hypothesis of this research is the operating speed of the vehicle will be influenced by elements of the geometric design of roads, combination of horizontal and vertical alignment and their geometric elements. The results show that road geometric elements, such as horizontal alignment and vertical alignment are shown to affect the operating speed chosen by the driver. of the four models produced showed that the curve radius is the most influential factor on the speed of vehicle operation, followed by gradient and tangent angle.
