Abstract

The Shock solicitation in rapid dynamics has always been a very fertile and topical research axis. Both in terms of its intensity and its point of application, the socalled solicitation has always been a problem for researchers. In other hand, composite materials as innovative materials come to impose themselves in many disciplines. The rules of the art require certain verifications; hence the objective of our present investigation is to combine the two problems in a study of the influence of impact on composite plates. The impact tests were carried out by a weighing apparatus falling at different heights thus giving different energies. The structure used is a sandwich plate made of 23mm thick composite material (1,5 + 20 + 1,5). The tests are carried out on specimens of dimensions 15-20, and the acquisition of the behavior of the non-impacted face is carried out separately from the impacted face. Similarly, two points of impact were considered. The results obtained showed in a case a local perforation without spread while in the second a postponed perforation but with a spread of the delaminating touching the not had an impact face.
