Abstract
In this article, the essence, the structure of the shadow economy, as well as the main reasons for the existence of shadow economic activity in Russia are considered. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the main methods of measuring the scale of the shadow sector and its impact on the socio-economic development of the country.
