The use of magnetic elastomers in combination magnetic fluid seals

The article deals with the issues of application of magnetic elastomer as a source of magnetic field in combined magnetic-fluid seals. Magnetic elastomer has a lower magnetization in comparison with solid-state magnets, but it does not require a special magnetic system, it is easy to process, it can be used as working elements of combined magneto-fluid seals. The results of investigation of the elastomer friction process in the presence of a magnetic fluid are presented.
