Abstract
Malignant melanoma is the second most common malignancy in less than 40 years of age. It predominantly occurs in Whites and is strongly associated with UV exposure. Subcutaneous melanoma nodules that occur in the absence of junctional melanocytic change or any other known primary are among the most interesting presentations of melanoma. We report a case of right axillary subcutaneous melanoma with a similar presentation. The true incidence of soft tissue melanoma is not known as such presentation is relatively rare and often confusing with unambiguity present regarding evaluation, staging, management and reporting
