In the review, the monograph by I. O. Karelina devoting to the issue of development of emotion un- derstanding at children preschool ages is analyzed. The study object is children's emotion understanding as a component of emotional competency and emotional intelligence. The data of foreign and native psychological studies including the results of author's empirical researches is presented in this book.
