Abstract

In the review, the monograph by I. O. Karelina devoting to the issue of development of emotion un- derstanding at children preschool ages is analyzed. The study object is children's emotion understanding as a component of emotional competency and emotional intelligence. The data of foreign and native psychological studies including the results of author's empirical researches is presented in this book. The author pays special attention to the problem of interrelation of emotion understanding with the various aspects of preschoolers' so- cial development as well as the questions of diagnostics of emotion understanding by children
