Abstract

In most cases the water intake for the self-pumped drip irrigation systems is carried out from the rivers of a submontane zone, to which the following features of run-off are characteristic: high intensity of increase of flow rate and water levels; a large number of silt load during flood season and their rather small content in water in the dry weather period; strongly marked dependence of fluctuation of sediment transport rate on fluctuation of flow rate per day and per season etc. Therefore the design of the abstraction intake has to provide the primary treatment of irrigation water.
