PROFESSIONAL TEACHER TRAINING IN THE GREAT BRITAIN PEDAGOGICAL EDUCATION SYSTEM

Abstract

Introduction. The article examines the professional training of a teacher in the system of pedagogical education in the Great Britain. It was found that a thorough analysis of the British system of pedagogical education has shown that it is based on the following principles: continuous updating of professional knowledge of teachers; providing the teacher with opportunities for comprehensive improvement; arming its scientific methods of selecting the necessary information. Study, analysis and comprehension of the process of formation of professionalism in the conditions of pedagogical education in the Great Britain from the end of XX – the beginning of the XXI century represents a great scientific and practical significance for the domestic system of pedagogical education. Purpose is to analyze the system of vocational teacher training in the system of pedagogical education in the Great Britain. Results. The study of the development of higher pedagogical education in the Great Britain for the training of future language teachers points to the following key trends: the orientation of teacher training for the needs of the school and society; improvement of the system of organization of pedagogical education by developing and introducing new ways of teacher training; improvement of the management system for the development of higher education; ensuring a high level of professional training of teachers; the approach to postgraduate pedagogical education as a permanent professional development, the expansion of alternative ways of improving the skills of teachers, the development of updated standards for professional development of teachers, the system of professional support for beginners, the program of vocational and pedagogical training of mentors Conclusion. The study of the development of higher pedagogical education in the UK for the training of future language teachers points to such leading trends. In particular, this is the orientation of the teacher training system for the needs of the school and society, and the improvement of the system of organization of pedagogical education by developing and introducing new ways of teacher training. Worthy of attention is the improvement of the system of management of the development of higher education, ensuring a high level of professional training of teachers. It is advisable to approach postgraduate pedagogical education as a permanent professional development, to expand alternative ways of improving the skills of teachers. The development of updated standards for the professional development of teachers, the system of professional support for beginner teachers, the programs of professional teacher training of mentors, are needed.
