Abstract
Introduction. The main purpose of the Ukrainian system of higher engineering education is the training of highly skilled experts that possess the deep professional knowledge and wide range of competences, combination of which allows to use the acquired knowledge in real-world situations, manage the processes of design of engineering objects and systems, accept the responsibility for the results of own professional activity. Therefore, the improving of engineering curricula by implementation of innovation pedagogical approach, namely, problem-based learning is an important present-day issue. Purpose. The aim of the presented paper is the considering of the current approaches to the implementation of hybrid problem-based learning in the training of the students in engineering area and the description of an example of development of problem task. Methods. The conception of the implementation of hybrid problem-based learning into the structure of the curriculum of engineering students that is taking into account the relationships between disciplines is proposed. The practical aspects concerning the procedure of implementation are considered. In addition, the example of the development of problem task, which takes into account key aspects of problem-based learning, is described. The procedure of the formulation of competences and learning objectives by using the Tuning approach is presented. Results and originality. The presented example of problem task development for course «Systems of design, identification and modelling» consists of the procedure of identification of appropriate learning outcomes, learning and assessment methods. The organization aspects concerning the students' learning, duties of academic staff, students' achievements assessment are considered. Conclusion. It was shown that hybrid problem-based learning is flexible and useful tool that provides the improvement of the wide range of students' skills and abilities.
