Abstract

This study presents the results of a research project on the implementation of probabilistic learning using open educational resources (OER), designed in Edmodo platform for students of third grade of elementary school education Bogota, Colombia, and Tuxtepec, México, to demonstrate their preconceptions, ideas and evaluate the effect of instruction in terms of probabilistic thinking and responding to the question: What is the effect of using Edmodo Chance instruction in third grade students of secondary basic education regarding the assessment of random phenomena of everyday life, their guesses and decision-making? Was performed using a qualitative method from case studies from the particular analysis to the general (Stake, 2005) approach. To implement studies Fishbein (1975) on the development of probabilistic thinking were considered, and Marzano (2000) related to the dimensions of learning. These elements served to establish the impact of the use of OER, especially the Edmodo platform to develop skills in students. Instruments such as were used: an entrance test, activities interactive support from Edmodo and output test for levels of learning and using data triangulation reach adequate levels of performance was observed, consistent with the requirements established in the standards national and international.
