Formation of P.n. Miliukova as academic historian

The historiographical activity of P.N. Milyukov is interesting because it lasted a relatively long time span, more than half a century. The first historiographical work of P.N. Milyukov appeared in 1886, the last was completed shortly before his death. P.N. Milyukov turned out to be an extremely prolific scholar, from the pen of which there were about 200 historiographical works of different genres. In his works he created a large-scale picture of the origin, development and disappearance of the theories and systems that determined work on Russian history, primarily in the 18th and 19th centuries. The article deals with the formation and development of P.N. Milyukov as a learned historian.
