Abstract
The questions of perception in the Ukrainian and Russian writing of the political component of the writer's activity, his prophetic role in the spiritual development of society are studied. The movement of the state consciousness of the Ukrainian nation through the prism of the views of Ukrainian writers and their ideological dispute with representatives of Russian culture is analyzed.
