Abstract

The study interprets the concept of continuous assessment as a series of communicative stages. To implement these stages, the author suggests such alternative methods of assessment as teacher's comments. The results of the research demonstrate the positive dynamics of learning English writing in the secondary school. The article also proposes some techniques for commenting, which are an effective way of verifying the learning process. The author substantiates three types of comments as alternative methods of continuous assessment and provides validation data in the secondary school.
