Abstract
Problems of intercultural communication are associated with differences in national linguistic consciousness of communication subjects. The main instrument for the study of linguistic consciousness is the associative experiment. The aim of the study was to reveal general differences in the associative links of the general medical semantics words through a free associative experiment from the point of view of Belarusian and foreign medical students of the first year. The quantitative and qualitative analysis of the associative experiment results among Belarusian and foreign students of the 1st year of Grodno State Medical University was carried out. It was established that the linguistic consciousnesses of different cultures representatives within one professional sphere have many similar features. The most striking differences relate to emotional-evaluative and descriptive associations to the words of medical semantics.
