Abstract
The historical aspects of the origin of vocational pedagogical education in the modern Zaporizhzhya region are covered. The role of the Melitopol pedagogical courses in the preparation of future teachers in the 19th century is determined. Оutlined scientific approaches to the study of educational process in the Zaporizhzhya region. The theoretical representations about tendencies of development of public education in Zaporizhzhya specified. The significance of the historical experience of professional pedagogical education in the context of the modern educational process in Ukraine revealed.
