Abstract
The author provides an outline of a sort of an organic frame model for asset of dramatic changes in attitudes concerning methodology of teaching English or another foreign language for special purposes at non-linguistic departments of higher education institutions in Russia. The central notion of the article: one of Communicative Quests is disclosed in a series of contrastive and interpretative strokes, giving a detailed account of innovative and constructive methodological shift in teaching modern languages for special purposes. The Communicative Quest is regarded as a consistent relevant and wholesome integrative methodological category, possessing proper explanatory power concerning modern trends in elaboration of teaching and learning strategies for classroom and online-lessons.
