Abstract
The transition to the middle school imposes increased requirements to the intellectual and personal development of pupils, at the same time the increased academic load, against the entry into a new age stage, is reflected both on physical condition and on emotional wellbeing of children. It was revealed that decrease in emotional wellbeing of school students at the transition to the middle school leads to decrease in their general psychophysiological status, overstrain, nervous break-down, and, therefore, to the physical health deterioration.
