Abstract

In the recent years, the usage of social media is rapidly increasing worldwide in all the sectors. The human resources (HR) play an important role in the organization and stands as a backbone for an organization. In the current scenario all the HR functions are executed using social media and also with the traditional processes. To sustain in the competitive business market, the social media is unavoidable. Social media changes the way we communicate internally and externally in a business. The role of social media in HR functions in an organization is evaluated in this study. The usage of social media in HR functions and their benefits and the effects of social media in HR functions of an organization are discussed in the study. It is concluded that even though social media is easy to communicate, saves money and time. It reduces the physical presence and affects the mental health of the users.
