Abstract
Flower pollination algorithm (FPA) is a new nature-inspired algorithm, based on the characteristics of flowering plants. The proposed method combines the standard flower pollination algorithm (FPA) with the particle swarm optimization (PSO) to improve the accuracy. The FPA-PSO algorithm is used to solve constrained optimization problems. This paper gives the integration of distributed generation for enhancement of power quality based on adaptive FP-PSO algorithm. The proposed FP-PSO is evaluated by considering the IEEE 69 bus test system in the MATLAB platform. The efficiency of the algorithm is proved by outperforming the other nature based and evolutionary techniques by giving better voltage profiles and reduction in loss values respectively
