Abstract
This work focused on a SPV array built water pumping using 4 phase SRM Drive. This motor is inexpensive, reliable and efficient than conventional DC and AC machine used in this application, because of its simple construction. The dc-dc boost converter is utilized to provide the balance voltage to asymmetrical power converter (APC) is work as a power converter for SRM drive. APC is utilized to regulate the speed of SRM drive. The maximal available power at any environmental condition can be extracted by using maximum power tracking algorithm (MPPT). The soft start of 4 phase SRM drive is also achieved through appropriate choice of step-size in incremental conductance (InC) algorithm method of MPPT. The dc-dc Boost (Step-up) converter worked in continuous conductance mode (CCM). This not only facilitates a limitable part of the InC MPPT method, but also reduces strain on converter elements. The whole proposed work carried out in MATLAB/Simulink environment using simscape tool box and sim-Power system
