Characterization of centenarian elders with functional dependence

Abstract
A cross - sectional descriptive study was carried out on the centenarians dispensed by the basic work teams belonging to the center Policlinic, in the period January - June 2017, with the aim of characterizing and directing actions with the aim of reducing the problems encountered in the elderly. The sample was constituted by 16 centenarians between the ages of 100 and 105 years, the clinical histories were reviewed, as well as their integral evaluations. The best information was obtained a deep interview was carried out with the caregivers, applying the mini mental test to evaluate the cognitive-affective sphere from the psychological point of view, for the statistical analysis, the percentage was calculated and reflected in tables. The result was that: the feeling of loneliness accompanied by sleep disorder with slight cognitive deterioration in the psychological sphere, then visual and auditory deficiencies with acute respiratory failure was the main medical problems.
