Abstract
Adenoid cystic carcinoma has a overall prevalence rate of 0.1 of all lung tumours. Adenoid cystic carcinoma of the lung, unlike Bronchial carcinoid and mucoepidermoid carcinoma have a more variable growth pattern like nodular, infiltration of bronchus and in severe cases, parenchymal spread. The centrally located Adenoid cystic carcinoma usually arises from trachea and main stem bronchi. The case reported here presented as an intrabronchial mass arising from bronchus intermedius protruding into the right main bronchus with spread into the medial basal and postero basal segments of right lower lobe. Bronchoscopic guided biopsy showed adenoid cystic carcinoma. Right sided pneumonectomy was done to this patient. Post surgery, patient has minimal complaints and advised follow up.
