Abstract
This article explores the technological foundations of the formation of modern pedagogical theories of folk dance, identifies their features, analyzes the theoretical, methodological and practical approaches of outstanding masters of choreography to teaching folk dance. In order to preserve and increase the rich national dance heritage, the author proposes to develop and adopt specialized programs of state support, which, in particular, would provide for an increase in the number of hours to study folk dance, holding numerous competitions and festivals, as well as extensive coverage of events in the media for the popularization of folk dances.
