Characterization of elderly patients with stomatitis denture

Abstract
A descriptive study was conducted in order to characterize elderly patients who attended consultation with stomatitis denture at the General Teaching Hospital "Dr. Agostinho Neto”, Guantanamo, in the period January 2013 to January 2014. A questionnaire was applied, qualitative research techniques, print and digital documents were used variables were reviewed such as : age, sex, and education level, relationship with smoking, frequency of brushing dentures and frequency of visits to the dentist. Quantitative data were obtained and processed by computerized means the percentage (%) used as a summary measure and the results are presented in tables. They were frequently affected by these injury patients carrying total denture that carriers of removable partial denture. Candida albicans was more identified in species evaluated in this study. Recommendations and conclusions are given.
