Abstract
The objective of this study is to analyze and describe the beliefs of four (04) high school teachers in a State Public School Sinop / MT. The methodology which funded the research was descriptive qualitative study using the open interview technique for data collection described. The discussion of results, the dialogue with the authors define where beliefs and personal principles, stated or implied by speech or by the action, accepted as truths, and that influence what people think and what they do. Beliefs are dynamically built from the experiences that these individuals experience throughout their life story. The conclusion is based on action and reflection in the practice of teaching the teacher, resources and methods taking into account the different methodological approaches can permeate the teaching of the English language teacher, academic suaformação. So beliefs can serve as barriers or assist the process changes the experiences.
