Strategies of Health Professionals of the Municipality of Juiz de Fora regarding the care of Transvestite users

The objective of this study was to analyze health care professionals from the city of Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, against transvestite users, in eight health units. The objective was to analyze the health professionals' attitudes towards the transvestite population, attitudes to combat (Homophobia) exclusion and prejudice in the field of health of family teams, as well as in the control of DSTs. The qualitative-quantitative methodology was used to obtain the primary data. Semi-structured, self-explanatory interview scripts were used for later tabulation analysis based on Bardin content categories. However, ambiguity and discomfort were detected in the interviews when dealing with the lack of capacity building in this area for health professionals, it was also observed the lack of training by some professionals, still difficulties in communication, knowledge about the Health policies.
