Abstract

The article deals with the pedagogical sources of contemporary Ukrainian scholars, who analyzed the category of «social maturity». The main approaches to the classification of historiography and the source database have been revealed, the results of the author's own research are presented. Due to the large number of elaborated sources, one of the selected groups, which includes scientific sources, namely: monographs, dissertations, devoted to the subject under study or tangent to it, has been described. The key aspects of the study of the presented problem are singled out. It was found out that the concept of "social maturity" is widely used in pedagogical science. Scientists come to the conclusion that maturity is an important component of the formation of a personality in a society, reflects the level of understanding of the personality his/her place in the society, the level of responsibility in relation to his duties and deeds. In addition, this concept combines the features of biological and social development within an individual as well as social and biological and social development of various social groups and social communities. Further development has been given to the analyses and systematization research on this problem.
