Abstract
The article presents the GIS model by means of which it is possible to investigate and analyze the forest plantations areas with respect to their fire risk. The analysis and investigation of the forest fires consequences using the GIS technologies, the identification of the fires causes, the factors and motive forces contributing to them, will allow to implement the forest areas zoning in order to prevent the fire hazard. These measures will enable to predict where the fire is likely to occur and take the necessary precautions to stave off danger. The article presents the results of the analysis relative to the fire hazard of one of the forest areas of the Rivne region by means of the developed GIS.
