THE ACT OF UKRAINE «ON PROBATION» AS THE PROSPECT OF FURTHER DEVELOPMENT OF SOCIAL EDUCATION OF JUVENILE OFFENDERS

The article is devoted to the theoretical rationale for the use of the Act of Ukraine «On probation» in the practice of social work with juvenile offenders. It has been identified the basic concepts of probation, the peculiarities of social and pedagogical work concerning juvenile pursuant to the Act of Ukraine «On probation». It has been characterized the principles of public policy for prevention about a child, specified functions of probation service and its main tasks. It has been justified the practicality and humaneness of the usage of alternative punishments unconnected with imprisonment of minors. On the example of international experience it has been shown the feasibility of using probation services in prison and after-care practice of education. It has been specified the priority of the further development of social work with juvenile offenders in Ukraine in the XXI century.
