Abstract
The article deals with the use of the local lore component in the teaching of musical and practical disciplines: instrumental training and pop vocal. The local lore component, as a means of improving the quality of mastering the basic concepts of musical theory, is manifested in the use of folk and modern song musical material that exists in the regions where students live. The work based on musical samples, which are the foundation of students' auditory and singing experience, contributes to more effective development of theoretical knowledge.
