Abstract
The article studies the influences of water hardness on raw silk exit. It was found that the most favorable conditions for steaming and unwinding cocoons correspond to each hardness index, pH value and content of mineral salts. The study of the mode of steaming showed that it is possible to achieve an increase in results only through the improvement of water quality by physical and chemical means. Superficially active substances were used in different concentrations to reduce the impact of water hardness. The use of the drug with a sufficient number of large ions, contributing to the destruction of the water structure, increases yield and improves the quality of silk when added to water with high hardness level.
