Abstract
The corrosion behaviour of copper in aerated 3 wt. % NaCl solution in presence of mequitazine (MQZ), using open circuit potential (OCP), potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements. Polarization measurements indicated that, the studied inhibitor acts as mixed-type inhibitor. The adsorption of MQZ molecules on the copper surface obeys Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The thermodynamic parameters such as the adsorption equilibrium and the free energy of adsorption are calculated and discussed.
