Abstract
This review is based essentially on the results in the field of microwave absorbing materials (MAMs) taking different parameters into account like permittivity permeability, impedance matching of absorbing material with free space ,thickness, type of material used highlighting the reflection properties of the material. As the name implies, microwave-absorbing materials are coatings whose electrical and/or magnetic properties have been altered to allow absorption of microwave energy at discrete or broadband frequencies. Microwave absorbers have been traditionally used for EMI reduction, antenna pattern shaping and radar cross section reduction. Particularly in military applications they are used externally to reduce the reflection from or transmission to particular objects as in case of radar.
