Abstract
The article deals with the clinical observation of a patient with apallic syndrome, which developed as a result of a traffic accident. Apallic syndrome is a complex of psychoneurological disorders, which manifests itself as a complete loss of cognitive functions of the cerebral cortex while preserving other basic vegetative functions of the brain. The patient was supplemented with edoscopic gastrostomy for nutrition. In the course of a three-month observation, the stoma is functioning without signs of inflammation of the skin around it. Conclusions. Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy is the optimal method for choosing to correct dysphagia of the central genesis in severe patients who can not take food through the mouth, and therefore require long-term enteral nutrition.
