Abstract
The article considers the personal and creative life of Kazan archaeologist and museum worker Natalia Dmitrievna Aksenova – student of the most prominent Volga region archaeologists - N.F. Kalinin and A.P. Smirnov. Since 1969, N.D. Aksenova was Deputy Director for Scientific Work in the newly established Bolgar State Museum-Reserve. Over the years of field studies of Bolgar fortified settlement, N.D. Aksenova made a number of important discoveries. As a coordinator of research activity of the museum, N.D. Aksenova organized exhibitions and exposition of the new museum, registration and storage of archaeological collections. N.D. Aksenova is the author of a monograph and guide on Bolgar fortified settlement and a series of scientific articles.
